Although they may not realize it, humans tend to casually conduct personality assessments of the people who surround them practically every day. However, these informal personality assessments only tend to focus on the outer personality of an individual while ignoring their inner personality. This is mainly because humans tend to strictly associate personalities with outward appearance or persona of individuals. On the other hand, psychology has a very different definition for the term 'personality' as compared to the meaning it derives in everyday usage. Sigmund Freud's Psychodynamic Theory defines human personality as being a combination of the thought patterns, behavioral patterns, feelings and emotions that make a person unique. They also assert that personality is influenced by the unconscious mind.
Behavioral psychologists such as John B. Watson and B. F. Skinner iterate how personality is the product of an individual's interactions with the environment and how the person deals with the environment with respect to his personality. This paper describes my own personal experience regarding the psychology of personality and the conversational comment that someone has a “great” personality. The basics of personality among others are the natural level of activity; sentiment spread and scope of the reaction are hereditary.
Discussion
Proponents of psychodynamic theories take into account the observable (conscious) as well as the unobservable (unconscious) traits that form the personality of individuals. They emphasize that the inner world of a human is characterized by the needs of man, and his relationship to himself and to the outer environment. Each person has the vast resources of self change, self-concept and goal-oriented behavior. I am a person with a goal-oriented nature and believe that my desired goals can be achieved with facilitating a psychological climate of communication.
It is assumed that the richer the personal experience of a person, the better he understands the situation and nature of others. For instance, you can meet an old man who stopped in his development for 16 years and, as a result, has not learned anything new in his life. It becomes clear that although the biological age is an important consideration, it is not a paramount one. The main criterion of human development will be open to new experience and complete trust in your body.
Self-esteem is one of the best explored components of an individual`s personality. As for the accuracy of judgments about a person, you can talk about an inflated self-esteem, underestimation (when we tend to underestimate their abilities and successes) and adequate (when the evaluation of our talent is reflected in the effects of actual work).
Whether we like or hate is determined byte emotional component of self-esteem, or self-acceptance. Attitude toward self is manifested in behavior. If you consider yourself worse than the others and less valuable, you may often take actions to reduce such sentiment. People who suffer from low self-esteem in their dealings with others allow themselves to be used, do not defend their rights, and submit to the needs of ...
