Introduction
This Psalm is a song of thanksgiving after a serious illness (vv. 2-5, 13). The psalmist recognizes that the Lord put him in danger of death for a sin of presumption (v. 7), but then, in answer to his prayer (vv. 9-11), gave clear proof of his mercy (v. 6), making the pain became joy (v. 12).
