In this research, the researcher will focus on to determine the impact of empowering people with type 2 diabetes in order to take control of their diet and exercise. It will make a practical and positive difference by providing hope and empowerment by motivating them and making them realized that they can cope up with Type 2 disease very easily.
The researcher believes that people who experience Type 2 diabetes do have full right to live happily and the concept of empowerment will encourage them to feel more confident, and enable them to take control of their diet and exercise.

This research will be conducted to facilitate patients of Type II diabetes with information regarding diabetes and how empowerment can help them to take control of their diet and exercise. Moreover, this research would help academicians and student fraternity to conduct further research on the said topic. Furthermore, this research will play a vital part in creating awareness among people and nurses that by empowering people with type 2 diabetes can help them to take control of their diet and exercise (Harris, 1992, p. 817).
The rational for choosing this topic is because Type II diabetes is a serious disease, which affects many people worldwide. According to the statistics it affects approximately 17 million people in the UK (90 percent to 95 percent of whom have type II diabetes) 11.1 million have been diagnosed, but 5.9 million are unaware they have the disease (Glasgow, 2009, p.836).
