Outline of the Study
This study will be based on the topic “British Pension system”. The first chapter will provide an introduction to the topic including the purpose and significance of the study. The second chapter will present a review of relevant literature, highlighting the previous research carried out in this field. The third chapter will cover the research methodology for this study. The analysis of findings and discussion will be presented in the fourth chapter. The fifth chapter will conclude the study, providing implications and useful recommendations for further research.
Background of the Research
One of the principle sources of financial support in old age are pensions, which accounts for around 39% of the social protection expenditure in Europe. It is projected by some analysts that the UK population will increase by one million to sixty million over the next 30 years. Moreover, the population over the age of 60 is estimated to grow by around fifty percent. These demographic changes have created several key implications for the British pension system. Moreover, the recent debt crisis and the global recession have also left an impact on the system.
Problem Statement
The British pension system has been a topic of debate since the last few years. There has been a vast quantity of research regarding the current British pension system. However, the area of implications and impact is highly untapped. The recent debt crisis in United Kingdom has also impacted the British pension system. Another problem is the lack of awareness among the youngsters. People are not aware of the importance of contributing to a pension plan and their implications. All these factors have raised the question on the future of the British pension system.
