This study would comprise the analysis of both primary and secondary research. The primary data to be used in the research would be gathered by using questionnaires; nonetheless, the analysis of the data would be executed by using SPSS. In addition, the research would also comprise secondary information that would support the current study variables (Fecso, Kalsbeek, Lohr, Scheaffer, Scheuren, Stasny, 1996, 44).
Methodology for Testing Hypothesis
This paper aims to explore the occurrence of divorce among police officers and law enforcement personnel and the effect on spouses and children. However, in this form of the study the qualitative data is convertible into quantitative by using the Likert scale through which the intensity of an effect can be measured at an ordinal ranking scale. Therefore, the hypothesis of this study would be tested on Likert scale as the study is qualitative in nature (Ware, Brewer, 1999, 109). Nevertheless, the statistical technique of Chi-square would be used along with descriptive analysis in order to explore the occurrence of divorce among law enforcement couples and to analyze the impact on spouse and children.
Justification of the Method Used for Research
The primary analysis of this study is subjected to the data to be accumulated through questionnaires that would be designed to evaluate divorce rate among the law enforcement couples in order to analyze the effects on spouse and children. In addition, the primary data collected in this study would be analyzed qualitatively by using the SPSS tool as the effects of divorce cannot be measured quantitatively (Seely, Birkes, Lee, 1997, 78). However, this research aims to collect data on Likert scale as this scale converts qualitative data into quantitative for authentic measures of effects associated with study variables.
