Prevalence of Obesity between the Ages 25- 65 Years Olds
Abstract
Obesity, which is one of the very common health and social issues in most developed countries today, is closely linked with mortality and morbidity. The problem of obesity in adults becomes more complex with age. The onset of obesity takes place when the calorie intake is far higher than the calories that are burnt by the body on a regular basis. The diagnosis of obesity is majorly based on the test history. The purpose of recording, maintaining and reviewing health history is to gauge the eating habits of the person, the exercise routine adopted if any and the medical condition of the person such as his physiological and psychological health. The diagnostic involves physical examination as well as some other lab tests. The paper discusses the Etiology of the disease, risk factors, its symptoms and consequences, diagnosis and diagnostic testing, prognosis and methods that can be implemented to prevent the prevalence and onset of the colossal diseases in the selected population.

Prevalence of Obesity between the Ages 25- 65 Years Olds
Introduction
Obesity, which is one of the very common health and social issues in most developed countries today, is closely linked with mortality and morbidity. The problem of obesity in adults becomes more complex with age. The people aged between 25 and 65 years of age are particularly more vulnerable. More than one third of the population in this age group in the US has been found to be obese between the period 2007 and 2011 (FP, 2012). The escalating trend of obesity in the developed countries is common among both the genders. This is not to say that obesity is not present in the developing countries but the problem is not as intense as it is in the developed world. In addition, 1 percent of the population has been diagnosed as severely obese (Birch, 2009). This means a level of obesity whereby the high weight of a person leads to a serious health problem (Giskes, 2009).
The paper discusses the Etiology of the Disease, Risk Factors, its Symptoms and Consequences, Diagnosis and Diagnostic Testing, Prognosis and methods that can be implemented to prevent the prevalence and onset of the colossal diseases in the selected population.
Etiology of the Disease/Condition
In order to develop a comprehensive understanding of obesity in people in between the age 25-65, there is a need to discuss the etiology of the disease. The onset of obesity takes place when the calorie intake is far higher than the calories that are burnt by the body on a regular basis. These may be burnt through exercises or through performing the daily activities. It must be noted that the body is burning calories at all times. Even when the person is sleeping, the body ...
