The purpose of this assignment is to gain various perspectives from the key individuals who are involved with implementing instructional improvement. For this purpose, interviews have been conducted from an “English teacher Fern Hunter”, an administrator “Howard Hughes principal Junior High School in Marlon” and “Rita Lincoln High school Geometry Teacher“ about their experiences with three of the five tasks of supervision for instructional improvement (i.e., direct assistance, group development, professional development, curriculum development, and action research). Interviewer: In your opinion, please share views on direct assistance?
Fern Hunter: I acknowledged your question about the instructional improvement followed by direct assistance. It is an important tool to improve instruction. In my view, direct assistance has eben a key to develop personal agenda in planning for the professional growth.
Interviewer: What are your views regarding the group development?
Fern Hunter: Group development plays an important part in organizing work in corporate world. It is esstntial to develop groups and get mature over a period of time. Improvement in goals, role clarification and interpersonal process enhance effectiveness of group development.
Interviewer: How can professional development be learned?
Fern Hunter: The skill or knowledge of to attain personal developemnt and career advancement is so called Professional development. However, i see professional developemnt as continous cycle of reflecting, planning and doing.
Interviewer: What are the curriculum development and action research?
Fern Hunter: Curriculum refers to specific instructions of a class to those related instructions for entire school. Setting up and establishing specific giudelines of insruction for curriculum build curriculum development.
Any professional inquiry in a social situation falls under the action research. Action reserach have helped to improve professional practices and solving problems.
Interviewer: Why is each task of supervision necessary and how do you perform each task effectively?
Fern Hunter: Each task of supervision is necassary to successfully carry out the skills, specific knowledge, or attitude. What i do to perform each task effectively is through analyzing performance and encouraging and establishing time line in order to get knowledge and skills.
Interviewer: What type of issues might arise with each task of supervision and how do you deal witheach?Fern Hunter: Professional concerns and professional dilemmas are developed as an issue during supervision. Administrator: Direct assistance is an important part for financial assiatance at the administration level. The ultimate end leads to the development of professional development through it.
Interviewer: What are your views regarding the group development?
Administrator: Group development refers to achievemment or accomplishment of goals by the evalutation of groups and monitoring them to work them together accordingly. Forming of the group, performing and adjourning group are the keys to growth development.
