The main practice of mysticism is to fulfill the quest of human growth and awareness. The main practice of mysticism can be explained through the qualities of mysticism which is to discover one's self-reality, i.e. a relationship with the Universe, people and mind. Mysticism involves discovering one's God who resides in the depth of human mind. Mysticism also includes having a direct contact with the Universal Power, God. The presence of God is experienced through mysticism. Through practical application of mysticism, one strives to improve the purpose of life and becomes guided with the daily chores of life through intuitive process. Mysticism also synthesizes the Creative intelligence of the Universe, to create the desires for one's life. The main practice of mysticism is done through meditation. It is often called as mystical meditation which is attempted to contact the God in a spiritual way. Meditation is done through one's eyes closed when person feels a second sight or eye of the soul.

Second sight or mystical sight is the practical mysticism, i.e. mystical meditation. This is done with physical eyes closed. When the physical eyes are closed, a second sight comes into mind when the mind begins to look into itself. The second sight is called as the third eye or the eye of the soul in mysticism. Christ referred to this eye as to fill the body with light. Through second sight, the mystics are able to relate the presence with the Ultimate Reality, God.
