In many countries Union are the economic arm of the country's social movement like cooperatives and political parties. In many countries they are the leading force in getting the employees there justified wage and other benefits (Fulmer, 1982). In United States the concept of labor Unions is found in all of the industries, they hold regular meeting and get together to get there point of view heard. In many cases, they are consideredthelegal representative of workers.

In United Sates, the Union power is most strikingly seenin public sector organization like Police and Teaching. This is due to the fact that these professions are most likely to witness negligence from the state under the head of cost cutting measures. Theyare frequently targeted to achieve the saving in the national exchequer. The power of the labor union in America has considerable increased over the period. Now they have much better trained and legal staff who can represent on behalf of the workers. They have better bargaining power due to the combined workforce power; they are also in the art of negotiating the wage and working condition of its members. They also keep a through eye on the contract signed by the employer and employees, if any breach is seen than they take necessary actions.
