The main purpose of this paper is to determine the ethical implications of the businesses polluting in the third world country. The paper also provides the reasons for which a business may conduct the operations in the third world country and disregard any standards of pollution control. The paper is also a reflection of the connections between the economic progress and development and the pollution controls and environmental protection. Last but not the least, the paper proposes the plan for uniform global pollution control standards and the ways to enforce them.

1. Determine the ethical implications of businesses polluting in a third world country. Explain your rationale.

The third world countries are the poorer and undeveloped countries of the world. The environment conditions of these countries are extremely poor. One of the problems which are mostly faced in the third world countries is the problem of pollution. Pollution has become a very significant problem in the third world countries. One of the major reasons of the pollution in the third world countries is the pollution from the business. There are different environmental issues which arise from the businesses. There are different companies operating in the third world which are discharging their wastes into the bodies of water. This is mostly dangerous for the ecosystem and it provides harm to the ecosystem (Van, 2000). The increased amount of the wastes can also be very toxic and dangerous for the organisms. In case that the toxins kill the plants in the pond, there are great chances that the fishes in the pond might die which could increase the frustration for the fisherman.

This is an unethical practice made by the businesses to intrude into the ecosystem and creating harm for the living organisms. Businesses are involved in the unethical practices by spreading the toxic waters and pollution. The increased amount of the industrial toxic wastes is injurious for the ground water which in turn becomes dangerous for the human consumption. There are different petroleum industries which use the oil spills that ultimately destroy the shorelines which results in the killing of millions of the sea animals. The burning of fossil oil like the coal, oil and gas is also not a positive thing as it is dangerous and increases the global warming through the green house effect. There are also different fluorocarbon gases which are used for the purpose of making the domestic products including the Styrofoam and refrigerators. These fluorocarbon gases deplete the ozone layer of the earth. Thus, these are the main problems faced by the third world countries as result of the unethical practices of businesses which ultimately results in the increase of pollution (Holdren, 2000). Thus, it is necessary that the businesses should follow the ethical considerations in order to reduce the number of pollution which arises as a result of their above mentioned operations.
