Population - Facts and Perception

Population theories are structured and formatted in order to explain the type of interaction between the changes in population in regards of social, economical, or psychological factors. The behaviour of the population has made the evolution of theories to be brought into consideration and can be applied to understand how a certain population acts or reacts to different situation or conditions. These could depend on their structure in terms of economic growth, demographics, race, culture, geographical conditions etc. Understanding a population behavior and being correct all the time is nearly impossible but studies have been carried out to at least understand what makes a population to react in certain ways under a particular situation. The picture always needs interpretation and may lack the polychrome fullness of historical reality but it forms a clear and dependable outline to which color may be added as the population characteristics are related to their setting.

Behavior of population or a group can be understood by studying Malthusian's population theories and we can bring improvement in people's actions. The first theory is based on rights of the people which states that people must get freedom and everyone should enjoy equal rights (Anderson, pp. 111). Freedom is to do everything that does not disturb the others thus the exercise of natural rights of each man has only limits to ensure the other members of society, enjoy the same rights (Nickel, 75). It states that everyone should get equal rights and they should be treated equally. Generally this rule is not followed (Scarre, pp. 80). People everywhere have to face the discriminatory attitude especially when they are in the minority. In huge population, it is very hard to manage how people behave with each other and many times a certain part of population is being oppressed by other dominating part of the population. (Edmundson, pp. 215)

For example, gender biasness is very common in every kind of society no matter which background it belongs to. Especially at work places discrimination is very frequently observed in terms of racism, gender identities, cultural difference. People behave differently with each other due to these differences. A much known example is that of the blacks and whites. Black people are treated very badly and they do not get proper hold of their rights in a white's society.
