Politics in the Middle East is determined
Introduction
The status and supremacy that middle east once possessed in the late 1970s and after the cold war is no longer present and it can be correctly said that the Middle East is now completely broken, vital role was played by several international actors in maintaining the status and power of the Middle East for instance there was peace between countries like Israel, Egypt and Jordan and Syria so there was no possibility of any conflict arising between Arab countries and Israel.
During period of 1980s till 1990s the political environment of Arab countries was in the mid of tension due the various political events like Palestinian movement, attack of United States on Iraq to encounter the activities that were raising in Iran, but with the intervention of Saudi Arabia the situation was getting to normal (Saleem, P, 2008).
Since then the political situation of the Middle East took a major turnaround due to the political events that occurred during that period such as the collapse of Iraq which out of nowhere became the centre of the tension between Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran and Turkey, with the changing interest of Iran and Turkey in trying to become the important force in centre of Middle east.
Further there was drastic change in the role of Saudi Arabia which was considered as the consolidating player but has all of a sudden taken authorities of regional affairs by convincing Iran and supporting Sunni parties throughout the region. Due to all of the above drastic changes in the political events of the bordering countries all the Middle East and its related states were severely affected (Salem, P, 2008).
The politics of Middle East is comprised of several important events but the emphasis in this essay is to discuss the major political events of the past that will lead us to future of the Middle East politics.
Affect of Gulf War on Middle East politics
Slowly and gradually the Middle East was trying to come out from the perception that was created of the region by the international forces due to its constant role played in destabilizing the international affairs that phase of stability was only for short period of time as on August 2 1991 when Iraq launched it aggression on Kuwait.(Barzilai, G, 1993).
These forceful aggressions on Kuwait which lasted for more than half a year made that the political situation of the middle east can be impulsive on any time of the day, the aftermath of this crises was so broad that it not only affected the regional player but all the international forces are still facing the social, political and economical affect of the crises.
After these crises sanctions were being imposed on Iraq but the major problem that arose was the economic crises as due to war both Iraq and Kuwait lost high quantity of precious oil and the oil fields of Saudi were facing threats from certain ends, all these dramatic turn ...
