Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to use the policy cycle as the framework and evaluate the policy developments under the UK coalition government in relation to child poverty and child protection. For the organizational and societal management, there is a great importance of the policy domain. The policy development is considered to be one of the challenging elements for any government or organization. Policies are somehow present in every organizational and governmental management, and they leave an effective impression. Therefore, it is necessary that proper procedures and methods should be used for the purpose of analyzing the policies and developing them so that they can contribute in the betterment of society. The policy cycle is the simplest way which can be used in the policy management process. Policy cycle helps in providing assistance in determining the most effective ways of providing influence to the organization or the specific sector. It is necessary for the policy developers that they should understand the different phases of the policy cycles and determine the ways in order to bring improvements in the policy development.

Discussion

Policy cycle is an important framework which is used in the development of a policy. This framework is helpful in determining the best and effective policies. Thus, it is necessary for any government and the other structures that they should effectively understand the different phases of the policy cycle, and should develop the policies while following this policy cycle. This paper makes emphasis on the policy cycle and using it as a framework for the purpose of evaluating the policy developments under the UK coalition government in relation to child poverty and child protection. The policy which is being used in this paper in order to evaluate is the Social policy and legislation for children and families (Beaunaux, 1996, p. 4). This policy has been designed for the purpose of exploring the emerging policy divisions within the practices of social policy in order to give responses for the needs of the children and parents. The main purpose of this policy is to determine different aspects of the child poverty and the children protection. When the government wants to present the responses for the protection of children and their family, then the importance of the policies is needed. The main purpose of this study is to analyze different social policies which have been used for the purpose of analyzing the children and parents. In the United Kingdom, the history of child protection was divided into three eras. The first era was a time in which there was no organized child protection; this era extended from colonial times to 1875.
