Police Operations

Introduction

Police is a security force charged with maintaining public order and security of citizens and subject to the orders of their leaders. Its administration can be centralized at the national level or decentralized, with local police forces largely autonomous.

Most police forces are quasi-military organizations, whose main duty is to deter and investigate crimes against persons or affecting public order and the arrest of suspects and notify authorities. It is also responsible for reporting minor offenses through citations that often end up paying a deposit, usually for violations of traffic laws. They can also be equipped with nonlethal weapons, in the case of riot control. The nonlethal weapons include batons (rattan or club), shields, riot equipment, rubber bullets, and tear gas. The use of firearms is a last resort and a police offer only uses a firearm, when a person is at risk or in danger of losing his life, although, in some countries, police officers have permission to use firearms against dangerous offenders who try to escape or are risks of patent intensity. The officers usually carry in most cases the wives (shackles) to stop criminals or suspects.

Modern police forces make considerable use of radio equipment and laptop computers carried by each person and installed in vehicles, do hereby coordinate the work, share information, and provide help quickly. In recent years, vehicles have installed computers to increase communication, allowing delivery of calls more easily, stolen vehicle check, criminal records of people suspected in a few seconds to update the record of the daily ...
