Introduction

The word “Science” is not a little word. Thousands of years ago men lived in caves. They travelled long distances to overcome their needs. They hunted animals as their food. They had no cure for many diseases and the span of life was not so long. The means of communication and transportation were not developed. It is the science that has reshaped their lives. The science is the key of all the knowledge whereas the religion or faith is the reason for the existence of human kind. There are thousands of beliefs regarding faith. The faith cannot be changed easily as science does daily with the rapid advancements. There are views and sayings of different scholars regarding the co relation of science and faith. Many of them believe that science and religion can work together. Many of them follow that there are conflicts and both are totally different in every aspect.

Discussion

Science is the knowledge which is generated on the basis of hypothesis, observation and experiments. Scientists and observers make researches and give their whole lives in order to come to any conclusion. In science, different laws are concluded with the passage of time and can be modified with the change in era or advancement of the world. In religion, everything is faith and nothing are experimented or concluded by men. The faith is the set of believes, emotions, existence of God, authority of God, relation of God with the mankind and cultures. Different people have different faiths according to their religion. All religions have sacred histories, cultural systems, and emotional background to give the spirituality and knowledge, and the reason of living to humanity, and the creation of mankind (HeilBron, 2003). Most religions have certain laws and rules and focus on practices. Some religions focus on beliefs and don't force the followers to come into practices. There are huge differences in scientific approaches and methods as compared to the faith. The faith and science can work together in many ways, but it does not look easy as there are many people who do not have any belief in faith or religion. Some people think ,that when the Christianity became popular, it killed the old science but this is the misconception (Gary Ferngren, 2002). Science is a blessing as it reshapes the lifestyle of men. Though it is also a curse in many ways (e.g the invention of a nuclear bomb kills million of people at a time. The science and faith are repeatedly discussed several times as both of them are important. There are very major conflicts between science and faith. The foundation of science is knowledge and same go with the faith. Those who are in favor of science never accept the importance of faith and will give philosophical answers at the end.
