Issue: How do we realize that we are not dreaming?
Dreams are common. Most of people enjoy life with dreams as it is a fantasy. Dreams can also be termed as an illusion where situations may seem real with lesser possibilities of fantasy. What is a dream? Dreaming of something and being realistic is a difficult phenomenon for many individuals. When human lie on the bed and preparing for the status of sleep is the first thing to do? Turn a blind eye! One may wonder what drives human's brain to think. Vision and see things around us causes people to think. Several theories have been developed that makes one realize the presence of reality and the objects around us. It also tells people that they are not dreaming actually. This is a serious issue that people cannot contrast between dream and reality. It is the most everyday experience people go through in the real world. Hence, the following paper discusses on this issue and mentions several theories that outline the difference between dream and reality. Dreams are symbolic interpretations of the unconscious that is correct. In the dream, the unconscious tries to process what we are not aware, is used to symbolize the images and situations from everyday life (Eliade, 1979).
The lucid dreams are those in which a person is aware that he is dreaming. This issue develops several risks in the real world. As mentioned above, dreams are an illusion. Hence, to make one realize that they are not dreaming is indeed an immense deal and this cannot be done easily. Dreams are of course very tempting when considered in reality, but this does not work during most of the times. Philosophers have developed theories to study and know about the dreams although they are inexplicable in nature (Eliade, 1979).
Two methods are suggested to the people. One of the theorists Descrates presents the following concepts.

New age technique
In the first option, a significant amount of risk is involved. But, if the second option is chosen, it would lead to precarious circumstances because people forget to differentiate between reality and dream in the new age technique. This implies that the risks involved in these dreams are higher. Also, the aspects which are cool generally pose a threat to people, because they might follow what is not real, and are lost in dreams and fantasies (Bowen, 2007).
Dreams are part of every human in this world. They cannot be avoided completely but, people can realize that there are ways to interpret the dreams. The possible ways that I use to identify if I am dreaming or not are mentioned below:
I pinch myself when I wanted to know if I am dreaming or not
I meditate whenever I am free. According to my personal view, this has particularly helped in balancing my physical and mental state. This practice helps avoiding unfavourable dreams due to peace of mind.
