A Personal SWOT analysis can help you achieve in your personal development. A useful tool, that helps you thinking about the sort of activities that will be of interest to you now and of benefit to you in the future. The SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) investigation is training for the personal top activity that follows. It starts to give confidence to the student to look at his/her unique personal intrinsic worth. Through this tool I did personal SWOT analysis and tried to assess my weaknesses by applying personality development models.
it is something that you learn through life experiences, everyday problem solving and through education. For this reason also I don't feel it was Time-bound as I set myself a short deadline which was not realistic. On the other hand I feel that with my other development points even though I encountered a few problems I overcome them and that I am now confident about my abilities about having good work-based experience. Further discussion is based on my development areas, and the strategies I opted to cope with them successfully.
Discussion
Having given some thought again to my personal skills, I have made a plan to build on my strengths and improve on the development areas, for the coming year. I have tried to seek out opportunities which are available both inside and outside University. I also focused on the need to try and overcome any potential threats. I initially started with small number of skills a small number of skills which by the end of my second University year, I would have been able to improve.
My Key Development Areas
It is a common saying by Benjamin Franklin that” Early to bed, early to rise, makes men Healthy, Wealthy and wise. The first development area which I had to work on was related to my daily routine. I had terribly awful habit of waking up late in the morning. Due to this I became bad in managing my time. It has become my weakness, since time management is the key to success. To implement time management in my daily life I made a task table. It had tasks with specific time. The tasks were done on daily, weekly and monthly basis goal depending upon priority. Further, to make this task table implementable, I browsed and bought book named 'Managing Yourself'. By buying this book, the problems I encountered such as waking up late and other personal activity management process, I was then able to work out the problem by myself. This is also known as self-directed learning that is where you assess your personal inabilities and fix them according to the requirement of productive any environment (Elearn, 2009). From this book, I made a chart to analyze my daily, weekly and monthly activities.
