Introduction

The great yet, most misjudged philosopher of this century would undoubtedly be Robert Solomon, came into the world with a life threatening heart condition which he later on survived, was raised in the city of Detroit, USA. Robert's father & mother belonged to the professions of Prosecution & Artiste. He in (1963) attained a degree of B.A in Microbiology to begin with, followed by his admission in the University of Michigan where he studied Medicine initially, after which he chose to opt for philosophy completing M.A and then Ph.D. in the same discipline by the year 1967. Robert Solomon primarily taught from the year 1972, at the most honored Institutions such as, the University of California & Princeton and continued it throughout his life time. The world renowned professor of philosophy, with a teaching experience of over twenty years at the University of Texas is Kathleen Marie Higgins, who was born in the year 1954. Higgins started her Academic career with a B.A from the University of Missouri specializing in Music and went on to complete her M.A, M.PHIL & Ph.D. in philosophy from Yale University

Discussion

After reading the narrative “Sophie's World”, as per my understanding it portrays minute recordings of philosophy veiled as a narrative. This is also amongst hundreds of philosophical records that were printed within the initial phase of the preceding century. Beneath the deception of "having no stance” an opinion is held that, philosophical history of the Western culture is considered today as the sole school of thought, when it comes to the subject of philosophy.

`In my opinion, the significance of philosophy is established in “A Short History of Philosophy”, revealing the influence of the transformation shaped by colonialism, science & Sectarian warfare before the teachings of existentialism & Multiculturalism. Personal explanations & versions are provided by the Writers and the outcome being an extensive analysis of the character of philosophy as a scholarly regulation. Robert & Kathleen together, depict a similar & commanding tone over the topic, as the two represent a chain of principles that they do not actually believe ...
