Introduction

The discussion involves my career plan. It involves my career goals including short-term and medium-term. Further, it includes strategies for achieving these goals and action plan for job search after graduation. The plan include current competencies, and competencies that I need to develop to achieve career goals, and meet the goals if my current employer.

Career Goals and Career Strategy

I am an experienced human resource management practitioner with a comprehensive and strategic understanding of business a world. Along with this, I am doing my MBA in Human Resource Management. My short-term goal is to do an internship and, medium term goal is to become an employed person. To begin career planning, it is important to identify areas of strength and areas needed to improve. This leads to thinking the step necessary to achieve an eventual career goal. My career goals include, increasing knowledge in training and development, continue to improve strategic planning skills, improve written and verbal skills, obtaining degree in business management, working in the field of Human Resource, develop strong computer skills effectively manage HR function and, obtain professional certification in HRM. I have chosen to study Human resource management because it gives me the freedom to choose my desired path of career. Moreover, I will get to experience an individual education. This will promote my creativity and sense of independent thinking. My aim is learn to work with others as a team, and this will immensely help me in developing practical as well as analytical skills that will help me in attaining global success. Personally, I am interested in getting a degree in Human Resource although there are many other career opportunities too. This is because there are some careers in which an individual needs to learn about different things constantly. Therefore, these individuals have to keep themselves updated with the current trends because of which learning is extremely important (Storey, 1992). Since I work at the forefront, it is very important for me to keep myself updated with all the information and trends. I therefore, plan to enroll myself in various training programs and diplomas related to the field of education. The qualification that I will receive will immensely help me in achieving my future career goals. This is because, I will get to learn about new things related to my field.

Industry Analysis

The industry that I am focusing to pursue as my career is Human Resource. Human resource management (HRM) plays a crucial role in success of any organization.
