Pathology

Introduction

Pathology is a term derived from ancient Greek , and refers to a common understanding, the study of diseases. The disease is particularly interested in studying the causes of disease (etiology) and their mechanisms (path physiology).A misnomer relatively recent and popular is to make the word "pathology" as a synonym of the word "disease".

Pathology study occurs when deviation from the normal state or process development is observed. A pathologist examines the processes of deviation from the norm , that are impaired homeostasis , disease, dysfunction .In biology, it refers to the study of structural and functional changes in cells, tissues and organs in diseases.  (Smith, Tholen, 1989)

The pathology is also a medical specialty. It is divided into two main sub-specialties.

The pathology is the study of the morphology ( shape ) of the disease by the macroscopic ( macroscopic ) or microscopic examination ( microscopy ). These are mainly the study of lesions , macroscopic or microscopic created by diseases and pathological phenomena.

The clinical pathology aims to analyze body fluids, more rarely, tissue samples ( biopsies , surgical specimens ) in the case of microbiological investigations in order to identify the etiology of a disease that includes tumor, inflammatory or infectious (diagnosis)) or to characterize its prognosis.

Medical pathology is the science that studies the patterns of occurrence, course and outcome of disease and certain pathological processes in humans and animals. Specialist that help in this field are called pathologist that are considered very important. This is so as the pathologist is a health professional responsible for analysis of tissues and fluids, their collection and their interpretation to lead to the path physiologic origin of disease. It relies on the latest discoveries in basic science as it is to be regarded as the most scientific of health professionals. (Robbins, Stanley, 2010)

Discussion

Pathologists can be pathologists or clinical pathologists. The pathologists are dedicated to the diagnosis based on morphological observation of injury, primarily through light microscopy, using various types of stains. Clinical pathologists are dedicated to the diagnosis through its own analysis of clinical laboratory including hematology, analytical immunology, diagnostic microbiology, diagnostic Biochemistry, and Clinical analysis as well.

Humans have always been unbeaten hunger, injustice, oppression, deprivation, marginalization, poverty and more social, cultural, economic and political, and consistently have struggled to explain the causes and motives, as well as seek ways and the same strategies for their prevention and cure problems mentioned above.

From this experience medicine with respect to pathology has been able to find areas of study and a wide range of disciplines to explain the causes of problems and abnormalities of human life. It also aims to familiarize the teachers, principals, state officials and educators with the social role of the pathologist in the distinction, prevention and remediation of harmful pathogens. These include general and specific social, economic social, cultural, political and educational, faced by children, individuals etc.

The social pathology is dedicated to the study of social problems borne pathogens in human society, and explains the reasons and motives for such behavior from different viewpoints: biological, psychological, sociological, economic, and historical and political science and media strategy to prevent and cure the above problems.
