Parental personality traits are assumed to play a function in parenting behaviors, the present study examined the relative between parental character and parenting method among 688 Dutch parents of adolescents in the grin study. The study considered Big Five character traits and drawn from parenting styles (authoritative, authoritarian, indulgent, and uninvolved) from scores on the underlying dimensions of support and firm control. Regression analyses were used to determine which personality traits were affiliated with parenting dimensions and styles.
