Paralegal Ethics

The intellectual property of a literary, artistic or scientific work belongs to the author by the mere fact of its creation. Intellectual property consists of personal rights and property rights, which they attribute to the owner full control and exclusive right to exploit the work, without other limitations than those established by Law. The Intellectual property concerns to innovations of the mind: literary and artistic works, inventions, names, images, symbols and designs used in commerce (Marshall, 1982).

Intellectual property is divided into two categories:

Industrial property: patents, inventions, industrial designs trademarks and geographical indications of origin.
