Definition

Osteoporosis is a status characterized by a decline in the density of skeletal part, declining its strength and producing in fragile skeletal parts. Osteoporosis literally directs to abnormally porous bone that is compressible, like a sponge. This disorder of the skeleton dwindles the skeletal part and results in common fractures (breaks) in the bones.

Osteoporosis is a disease that involves the loss of calcium from the bones.
