Introduction

The purpose of this assignment would be to identify one person perceived as a leader of the current organization of which I am currently employed at and as a subordinate of the same organization to determined distinguished characteristics of which enables this individual to be recognized as a leader. This will be initiated by addressing the informative overview of the organization through illustration of the activities and services provided by such organization. Further elaboration on how effective this person's leadership is and why it is effective will be made by analysing theories and models of leadership. The process of elaboration will begin with the identification of the leader in the organization, analysing the leader against trait theory, behavioural theory, contingency theory and contemporary approaches to leadership. The organization that will be referred to in this assignment is SODAMCO Weber.

Discussion

I confess that I have been very difficult to choose one leader because I have so many people I have marked both by their communication skills, empathy, charisma, or their side vision. I finally chose my line manager, Maria Eugene. This woman of 5 feet, black hair and authoritarian tone flatly marked my work experience in my previous job place. She was a woman of character who had to evolve in a male environment and worked with children from a not very fortunate point of view.

I and Ms. Eugene worked in an exemplary collaboration, at SODAMCO Web, which made projects and assignments successful. SODAMCO was founded in Lebanon in 1985, started its first manufacturing facility in Lebanon.

In 1990, SODAMCO initiated first international branch in United Arab Emirates, followed by Syria in 1994. In 2002, new manufacturing facility was inaugurated in State of Qatar followed by 2 additional manufacturing facilities in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the factories were allocated in Jeddah and Riyadh. On September 2nd, 2009 SODAMCO announced its official J.V. with Saint-Gobain / Weber Group.

Saint-Gobain / Weber group is recognized as the most reputable manufacturers of industrial mortars in Europe. Saint-Gobain / Weber group joint venture with SODAMCO enabled both organizations to expand their activities in the Middle East through inauguration of new territories that provided remarkable growth. SODAMCO Weber manufactures and markets quality construction chemicals products. The current workforce of this organization exceeds 380 employees of which 150 specialized professionals offering assistance to more than 5,500 customers, products are developed through extensive research & development and are subject to strict quality control procedures.

SODAMCO Weber is now a major player in the construction industry in the Middle East and the Gulf region, its dynamic team and loyal customers constitute the essential forces behind its remarkable growth.
