Abstract

In this study, we try to explore the concept of “organizational behavior” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “organizational behavior” and its relation with “organizational change”. The research also analyzes many aspects of “organizational behavior” and tries to gauge its effect on “organizational change.” Finally, the research describes various factors, which are responsible for “organizational behavior,” and tries to describe the overall effect of “organizational behavior” on “organizational change.”

Introduction

Organizational behavior is the study of human behavior in the heart of the organization. It is a discipline in which we seek to better discern actions and behavior of individuals and groups, interpersonal interactions, and mechanics of the organization.

Management of organizational behavior is an important aspect for an organization in this world of fierce competition. In the management of organizational behavior, the manager's role is of fundamental importance and helps senior management in facing new challenges for the company's strategic, organizational behavior. A manager must be able to achieve work objectives with the team maintaining their motivation and commitment to the company. Planning, organizing, directing and controlling it will be four principal functions within the company (Gibson 2000).

Discussion

An acceptable definition of organizational behavior is “Organizational behavior is a field of study that investigates the impact that individuals, groups and organizational structure have on behavior within the organization, for the purpose of applying such knowledge towards improving organizational effectiveness.” The given explanation of organizational has three core components; the first component is that organizational behavior is the fact-finding examination of individuals and groups within an organizational setting. The second component is that there is a huge influence of structure of the organization on the behavior of individuals in the organization, and the third component is regarding the appliance of knowledge to attain effectiveness at the organizational level. The management of organizational behavior can have some serious strategic implications for an organization, and can play an immense part in the development of competitive advantage for the organization (Hatch 2006).

Strategic implications of organizational behavior

There are a number of different things that we can count under the umbrella of organizational behavior. The proper management of organizational behavior can have numerous strategic implications for an organization. The first thing that is affected by the organizational behavior is productivity. Organizational behavior can have a direct impact on the employee productivity. Good productivity in an organization is an outcome of motivation, and motivation flourishes in an effective climate. The concepts of productivity and organizational culture are inter-linked and tightly related to each other. In unardoned words, we can say that productivity is the skill of delivering products of the company to the customer at the lowest possible cost and with the best possible quality.
