Introduction

The organizational analysis is based on Toyota Company, for carrying out analysis the most common technique of modelling is used. The development of models enables the organization to demarcate their way to function and develop in order to recognize the best possible way of managing. Development of models, facilitate managers and company to find out the critical variables under certain situations; therefore, they can try out variety of combinations of variables in order to get desired results. For instance, managers can set and try the best technological combinations and organizational structure with the help of organizational models. The organizational models focus on structure, behavior and technology. This approach gives a brief overview of the organization in terms of its processes and managerial implications. I would recommend subjective method for this analysis.

Toyota has been selected for the critical analysis of an organization. Toyota is a Japanese multinational company, founded in 1933 by Kiichiro Toyoda. In the 1980, Toyota first caught the attention of the world, when it was noticed there was something special about Japanese quality and efficiency: Japanese cars lasted longer than American cars and require fewer repairs (Cooper 1996 69). In July 2006, Toyota crossed over Ford in car sales in 2007, and became the first car manufacturer in the world by overtaking General Motors, and there was a speculation that year 2008 was a year when there was production and sales of approximately 9.8 million vehicles, along with increased sales. Toyota is the leader in the automotive industry featuring a box of eight-speed automatic transmission guide, real time traffic routing with dynamic reallocation and a four-zone climate control with infrared technology in some of their models (Zeitlin 2002 43).

Rational Model of Organization

Frederick Taylor (1856 - 1915) was an American engineer who has implemented the scientific organization of work, which is the basis of the industrial revolution of the twentieth century. His background in engineering prompted his organizational analysis on efficiency. Taylor summed up in four principles the foundations of the scientific organization of Business:

1.Management must develop a new scientific technique for each aspect of the task of a worker to replace the empirical method used traditionally.

2.Management must select, train, educate and develop each worker, which in the past, determined by himself how to perform its task and was forming his best by his own means.

3.Management should cooperate enthusiastically with workers to ensure that each task is executed according to the principles and techniques that have been developed.

4.Equal distribution of work and responsibilities must be established between management and workers.

The main idea is to break down the tasks, timings, the movements of workers to improve quality, reduce costs and delays. This was the beginning of the line work and mass production. The rational model enhances productivity and promoted low-skilled employment. However, it is faster and the increase in production can be achieved by overwork (Cox 2005 489).
