What is learning?

Observational learning, which is also know social learning theory, takes place as one observer's actions transform upon watching the actions of a model. The observer's activities might be affected due to the positive or negative outcomes-known as vicarious reinforcement or vicarious punishment- of a model's actions. (Isom, 1998).

Bobo Doll Experiment

To perform the Bobo Doll Experiment, Bandura gathered many children from between the age three to six years, having average age of four years and four months.

For the kids in group 2, after 60 seconds of playing with the toys, the model begins to vocally physically and verbally attack the doll for a time of ten minutes.

For the 3rd group under observation, the models sat silently and play calmly with the toys for 10 minutes.

The focus group, obviously, sat in the room for ten minutes without any model.
