Change is a process that encompasses all activities aimed at helping the organization to successfully adopt new attitudes, new technologies and new ways of doing business. Effective management of change allows the transformation of the strategy, processes, technology and people to reorient the organization to achieve their goals, maximize their performance and ensure continuous improvement in an ever changing business environment.
Change process
According to Lewin (1947, 1951), proposes the classical theory for the implementation of successful change. Currently, nursing is widely used in various innovations in practice and research. Lewin saw the change process in three basic stages which are: 1. Unfreeze:
This is the first stage of change and can be characterized as a process of melting of the system and creation of motivation or readiness for change. The objective of this stage is to occur motivation to create some kind of change; it becomes aware of the need to change, recognizing the problem and select the solution that best fits a set of alternatives. The unfreezing phase is completed when two individuals involved, understand and accept the need for change.
2. Movement
It is the second phase of change, also called motion, it means moving to a new level of conduct that is, real change happens in this phase. When individuals have enough information to clearly identify the problem, then the change itself can be planned and started. In this sense, the objectives are selected progressively defined stages, goals, methods, timing, and evaluation criteria in order to allocate resources, responsibilities and commitments.
3. The refreezing
It is the final phase of change where they integrate and stabilize new changes.
