The problem

Nurse management is not an easy task. In the given case, the nurse manager has not given a good appraisal to the nurse with whom the performance appraisal conference was held. The nurse manager only highlighted her weaknesses and did not include any of her strengths and superior performance. On the other hand, the nurse manager picked one of her mistakes and started to berate her for unsatisfactory performance. Accordingly, the nurse was baffled and did not understand the reason for the performance appraisal conference. Of course, the performance appraisal conference does not purport to condemn the work of the nurse by picking any of the holes. The performance appraisal conference of the nurse with the nurse manager was a unmitigated fiasco.

It is clear that the aim of any performance appraisal conference is to improve the working conditions in the hospital. The goal of the performance appraisal conference is to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the nurses. This is done so that the nurses are able to improve their performance in the future. The right things are highlighted so that they are able to continue those habits and even improve on them. The weaknesses are also considered so that the nurses could improve on those points and give better performance in the future. The result is that the nurse goes out with a heightened morale and passion to work and serve the humanity.

On the contrary, in this performance appraisal conference the nurse manager failed to perform his or her duties.
