This paper is going to conduct gap analysis/assessment needs of Advanced Data Systems Corporation whose data will be used by American Institute for Health Information.

In October 2007, the American Institute for Health Information (AIHI) and Health Advanced Data Systems Corporation have agreed to collaborate in order to assess whether the data file health record (EHR) could be used by AIHI (in concert with other data sources) in the production of its reports and its analysis to come. DAD and NACRS feed AIHI products, including methodologies grouping, indicators and reporting on health and hospitals, which serve resources and databases for decision making and funding at the provincial level, territorial and federal. This gap analysis is to determine to what extent and under what conditions or assumptions the data currently collected for DAD and NACRS could be from new jurisdictions.

Methodology

We compared the data elements in the DAD and NACRS several standards pan-American EHR, in particular the contents of messaging specifications for registers and DSEi, in order to identify exact matches, partial or zero. A color scale was used to sort the results according to three categories: red (no match), yellow (partial match) and green (correspondence perfect). Standards were used only as a surrogate for data that may be contained in the DSEi jurisdictions and that in the records of providers and clients. Among the interesting facts regarding the DAD, it was found that 22% of mandatory data elements were aligned to the corresponding elements of DSEi and records. By cons, 78% of the data elements have proved partial matches or no. In the evaluation of specific data elements the grouping methodology CMGs by AIHI (CMG +), were 43% and 57% exact matches, partial matches or no. NACRS Analysis revealed that 23% of required ...
