National Security

Define the term National Security. What is the purpose of National Security? Who is held accountable for U.S. National Security? How is accountability achieved?

National security doctrine is a concept used to define certain actions of foreign policy the United States aimed at the armed forces of countries in Latin America to change their mission to engage exclusively to guarantee internal order to combat these ideologies, organizations or movements within each country, would favor or support communism in the context of the Cold War, legitimizing the seizure of power by the armed forces and the systematic violation of human rights (Brown, 2008, pp. 12-15).

U.S. national security strategy currently contains strands of unilateralism and multilaterism, and the balance between these two principles will likely be a critical question in the coming century (Columbus, 2003, p. 4-13).

The purpose of the National Security is to integrate the domestic, foreign, and military policies relating to national security, and so facilitate cooperation on national security matters between the military services and other government departments and agencies. The use made of the National Security Council depends on the views of the president, who may choose to use other advisers outside its formal structure. From the late 1960s to the early 1980s, the functions of the council expanded to include the formulation and implementation of policy (National Security Council is accountable for U.S. National Security. The National Security Council (NSC or National Security Council) is an administrative organization directly under the President of the United States. It has an advisory, coordination and sometimes pulse on issues of foreign policy, of national security, and more generally on all strategic issues. He is an actor in this little known, but major, sometimes predominant, the foreign policy of the United States. It meets the statutory Vice President, the Secretary of State (equivalent of foreign minister in other countries), the Secretary of Defense and national security adviser around the president. It presides, while his administration is headed by the national security adviser (Brown & Cody, 2008, pp. 12-15).

Its primary function as a forum to exchange advice to the president. As such, meets regularly, according to the international situation and the priorities of the president. The board administration is responsible for the preparation of these general meetings. Interdepartmental committees (inter) are also held under the direction of national security adviser on specific topics. At meetings of the Board, the President may make decisions, resulted in the national security adviser in the form of guidelines and the participants must implement. As such, it has become an impulse decision, coordination and verification of their implementation in the hands of the president, strengthening its executive facing the Congress (NSC, 2011).

The NSC has gone from being a crucible for the formulation of foreign policy to that of an integral component of the final mix, while retaining much of its primary functions.
