My Career Goal to Become A Professional Paralegal

The paralegal profession has been one of the fastest growing professions in the United States for years. It traditionally offers stable income and good benefits, as well as job satisfaction and professional recognition to individuals who are unable or uninterested in investing the time and financial resources needed to attend law school or pursue other professional careers. Getting that first paralegal job is not the end of career goal setting. While you are getting valuable experience in the paralegal field you must be open to the possibilities to advance your career. Career advancement may involve creating your own opportunities within your current job or changing jobs(Brodrick, 2010).

My career goal is to become a professional paralegal. No one can look into the future and completely plan a paralegal career. The area of the law that originally drew me to paralegalism may not present employment opportunities — so that I may find yourself in another area of the law. One of the primary considerations when deciding on a degree is whether a future paralegal intends to stay in the legal field and pursue a long-term career as a paralegal, or whether the position is a stepping stone on the way to law school or another goal.

My hobbies are watching music videos, cooking, shopping, going to the beach and going to amusement parks. I have completed 1 year of college from August 1994 to May 1995. I was a homemaker for the years of 1995-2010. I have just returned to school in October 2012 to get an associate's degree in Paralegal studies. I have two kids ages 16 and 8 years old.
