In statistics the linear fit linear regression is a method mathematician who modeled the relationship between a dependent variable Y, independent variable X and a term randomized variable (Crown, 1998, 117-129). This model can be expressed as:

Where ß 0 is the intersection or the term "constant", the ßi (i>0) are the respective parameters for each independent variable and p is the number of independent parameters to be considered in the regression (Crown, 1998, 117-129). The linear regression can be contrasted with non-linear regression.
