Throughout the colonization of the Americas, explorers and colonists alike never documented a consensual perception of the Native Americans. Within the texts we've read so far this semester, each author has described the lives and actions of these people in very drastic and different lights. This constantly shifting perception of the Native Americans lead to the stereotypes that those colonizing the Americas began to spread; that of a primitive, violent, and lower intellect group of people who occupied their “New World”.
