Research Question

As the population is increasing, nursing care for the people will become increasingly important. Improvements in medical care over the past 50 years have extended the average person's life expectancy, dramatically increasing the number of people living over the age of 65. As people live longer, the demographic configuration of the nation's population is also changing. This research is important for occupational therapists to treat patients with dementia by using music therapy as an intervention. The research question is that whether music therapy or message therapy will have a significant difference in pain relief in post-op patients

State null and alternate hypotheses

The null and alternative hypotheses for the study are:

H0; music therapy will have a significant difference in pain relief in post-op patients

Ha; massage therapy will have a significant difference in pain relief in post-op patients

Research design (methodology)

A mixed method will be employed to gather general and then more specific information from participants and sources. The mixed method includes both the quantitative and qualitative research methods for gathering information. The qualitative and quantitative research methods will be used for this research study. Apart from qualitative and qualitative research methods, the secondary and primary research methods will be used for the data collection. Quantitative research method will be used in which questionnaire will be filled from the patients. The questions of the questionnaire will be open ended as well as close ended. There will also be some internet research to learn about the therapies. The research will perform through famous online libraries.

Quantitative research is used to collect, process, and analyze quantitative data on variables or predetermined numbers.  Quantitative research explores the association or relationship between the variables that have been quantified, which further helps in the interpretation of results.
