Child development can be described by one side as growth and emotional development or emotional and other cognitive growth and development - biological. Three Appropriate Activities That Will Enhance Cognitive Development

As per Piaget's view, a child can only develop his cognitive abilities to highest levels, if he or she is able to experience the world and environment in which he or she is living. Cognitive development is the stage which involves ways for children learning and problems. A child constructs knowledge and learns intelligently about his/her environment as he/she develops cognitively. Concentration, Memory, perception, attention, creativity and imagination are all key gears for cognitive development. All children are needed to meet some important cognitive developmental milestones. Following are three appropriate activities that will enhance cognitive development in children.

Activity #1: Caregivers and parents can initiate hiding games to promote children's conception of object permanence. Peekaboo and drop the spoon are examples for younger infants. Hide and seek and hide the object are appropriate games for toddlers.

Activity #2: Caregivers and parents should provide experiences that help babies understand cause and effect. Toys involving an action that produces an interesting result are ideal. Examples are a squeeze toy that makes an interesting noise, or a pull toy that makes popping sounds when it is dragged along the floor.

Activity #3: Caregivers and parents can play imitation games with older infants and toddlers. These include games with actions, such as patty-cake or rubbing faces. As children acquire language, simple songs and rhymes are appropriate.
