Introduction
Michael Jackson, also known as the "king of pop" was born Michael Joseph Jackson, on August 29, 1958. He was born in Gary, Indiana. Jackson has lived almost all of his life as a public performer. As a child, beginning at the age of four, he was a member of the Jackson Five. It was not long before he was the group's lead vocalist and front man. He showed absolute self-confidence when on stage that contradicted his private, shy, real life personality. He moved on to become a solo artist and one of the most famous men of all time. However, now that Michael Jackson has become one of the most bizarre characters in music history, many of his contributions to the music industry have been overlooked. But regardless of his numerous plastic surgeries, peculiar behavior and popularity in the tabloids, Jackson has to be viewed as a music legend.

Got To Be There was a huge hit both in the United States and in the UK. He then released a revival of Bobby Day's rock and roll novelty Rockin' Robin'. His revival was on the top of the United States charts in 1972.
Motown Records capitalized on Michael's fame and popularity with a sequence of hurried albums, which combined material that was directed towards the teenage market. They also hoarded scores of un-issued tracks, which they then released in the 1980's in order to cash in on the success of his Epic recordings. The Jackson Five's sales began to slip in the mid 1970's and Michael's solo career was delayed. He continued to set aside his talents for them after the group was reborn in 1976 as the Jackson's. He then re-emerged into the eye of the public with a star role in The Wiz, a film musical. Michael collaborated with Quincy Jones on the soundtrack for the album. They partnered again in 1979 for Off The Wall, which Jones produced. Off The Wall was a surprisingly successful collection of contemporary soul music that introduced the world to the new, adult Michael ...
