Introduction

This paper presents a critical analysis of a mentoring role, in services, which it renders in the professional development of an individual. Mentoring enjoys a respectable position in the society and their importance cannot be under-estimated. Mentoring is a process by which a more experienced person (the mentoring) provides guidance and assistance to an individual for his or her personal and professional development, by investing time, energy and knowledge. Mentoring can also be taken as a committed personal learning process, whereby a person takes owner and responsibility for their personal and professional development (Andrews, 2009). Effective Coaching are good methods of “training "in the place of work, to help employees achieve a performance higher by seeking compromise, rather than control, and results, rather than blame.

Role of Mentoring and Coaching

Mentoring is an interpersonal relationship support, exchange and learning, in which a person invests his wisdom of experience gained and expertise to promote the development of another person who has the skills to acquire and objectives professionals to reach (Fauqier, 2008).

Coaching is good for employees and managers, for through it, the manager develops its relations, which will result in continuously improved performance for the boss and employees. In fact, one of the main goals of effective coaching is to create an environment in which employees are willing and able to share their ideas with his superior.

The benefits of effective coaching can include: development of employee skills, facilitates the diagnosis and correction of problems of performance, promotes productive working relationships, and improves performance and attitude, among others.

The mentoring relationship is characterized by openness to others, reciprocity, free and voluntary. It develops long-term sufficient to facilitate the experience of personal and professional transitions, promote self-realization, and contribute to the development of the two people involved. It can develop as part of formal program, when an organization supports this mode of learning and personal and professional development. It is advantageous to be framed by ethical rules defined in terms of objectives (Fauqier, 2008).

The mentoring is a true generator of change, promoting growth at all levels: personal, professional, organizational and social. His contribution to humanity is transforming. Today, the mentoring becomes a protagonist necessary for the dissemination of knowledge to accelerate learning processes in a world that often seems to have no coherence.

Mentoring is responsible to facilitate subordinates in two key areas; including career counseling and psychosocial development. It has been found that mentoring develops a positive impact on the overall personal and professional development of an individual irrespective of gender, ethnic or cultural differences.

First, this method is an effective system for transfer of experience and knowledge of the most highly qualified new employees. Also, a mentor can monitor the success of the development of theoretical knowledge in their wards.

In addition, mentoring serves a motivating function, as for experienced staff mentor position is recognition of their professional achievements and promotes respect for the staff.
