Articulation of Response to the issue

We are a toy company and it is our dfesire to create toys that bring children pure fun and pleasure. In order to ensure the auurance of this element, it is imperative to create toys that do not compromise on safety of children. This incident is one in which an error has occurred in the functioning of the company's production line. In order to ensure that such an incident does not repeat in the future, the company will have to create a setup that identifies and removes such threats to consumer safety before they can have an implication. This memo suggests three possible measures that can be implemented in this regard. The first possible measure is the automation of the manufacturing process; specifically in the part in which raw chemicals are compounded to produce the product. The second recommendation is to put the employees through training that is designed to specifically eradicate the future possibility of such an incident. The third potential measure is that which pertains the usage of raw material in the product. This measure proposes the usage of lead-free raw materials in the product.

1. Alternatives

Our first alternative is that we should automate our manufacturing line and should specifically focus on the raw materials which are compounded to produce the product.

Secondly we could also focus on the training of the employees training which can design and create a new and create awareness of the product line and materials used.

Alternatively we can also used materials which are free from chemicals such as lead and we should certainly focus on quality of the product.

1a. Alternative Process

With the company automated process of the chemical production line, our company can focus on the harmful materials such as lead to be less used in the process of the production and our company process will be completely out of human intervention in the chemical usage production line and the complete automated system will focus on total quality with efficient use of the production of raw materials. (Richardson, 2005)

Since we value our quality human resource, we can either concentrate with the training of our workers which can help them with growing knowledge of materials and methods used to produce goods in our company.

With our third alternative we can focus on the no chemical usage in our goods and we can create harmless materials throughout the production life. This process will be efficient enough to minimize the usage of the chemicals as well as effective usage of other raw materials.

1b. Alternative Advantages and Disadvantages

If our product is delivered to the customers which are schools of South America than the negative impact will be created towards our company quality and we could lose our market share of the industry and would not be able towards customer focused company. (Fleming, 2003)
