SkyTeam, the mark of SkyTeam, an airline alliance with its centralized management team, SkyTeam Central, headquartered at the World Trade Center Schiphol Airport Schiphol Airport grounds of Amsterdam in Haarlemmermeer, Netherlands. [2] [3] [4] SkyTeam was founded in 2000 by Aeromexico, Air France, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air - the last of the three airline alliances to be formed - but has grown to become the second largest airline alliance in the world (in number of passengers and members), behind Star Alliance and Oneworld ahead. The Alliance currently consists of thirteen companies from four continents, with the theme "Caring more about you." SkyTeam also operates a cargo alliance called SkyTeam Cargo. From October 2010, the alliance and its members have a total workforce of 316 445 [5].

In 2004, the alliance had the biggest expansion in Continental Airlines, KLM and Northwest Airlines joined both as full members. In 2010, the Alliance celebrated its 10 th anniversary with the introduction of a livery SkyTeam, the union and improving the condition of four airlines, followed by announcements of Argentine Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, China Airlines, Garuda Indonesia to become full members. In January 2011, SkyTeam announced that Saudi Arabian Airlines Middle East Airlines will also join SkyTeam in 2012.

From October 2010, SkyTeam flies to 898 airports in 169 countries. Which operates more than 12,500 flights with a combined fleet of 3,400 aircraft (including vehicles of association). Moreover, the alliance has 420 salons worldwide to serve its 385 million annual passengers. In addition to its passenger business, SkyTeam also operates a cargo alliance separately - SkyTeam Cargo - Carriers eight partners are all members of SkyTeam.

January 10, SkyTeam announced that Saudi Arabian Airlines signed an agreement to join the alliance in 2012. The airline will be the first member of SkyTeam in the Middle East, adding 35 new destinations to the alliance network. These new destinations are in the Arabian Peninsula, the Indian subcontinent and North Africa. SkyTeam compete with the oneworld alliance and its members of Royal Jordanian Airlines in the Middle East. January 19, SkyTeam announced that Middle East Airlines will join the alliance in 2012. Middle East Airlines flies to 30 destinations, mainly in the Middle East and West Africa, thereby further increasing the presence of SkyTeam in this region.
