BP PLC (British Petroleum) is an international oil company. Operations of the company are present on six continents and its products and services are available in over 80 countries around the world. International headquarters of BP are located in London, England. The North American headquarters are in Houston, Texas, along with the Exploration headquarters. BP products are available either on the road, for the home and for businesses. Products and services available on the road are BP Biofuels, gas and fuel cards, gas and petrol stations, motor oil and lubricants and others. Home products from BP are liquefied petroleum gas and solar powered energy. Many products and services are available for businesses(Lardy 2007 43-45). BP operates Castrol, BP, Arco, Aral, AM/PM and Wild Bean Cafe as their primary brands. This paper discusses BP's expansion strategy to China. China is a prospective markets for future energy and petrochemical supplies, companies are targeting it for capturing growth. As per in-house research, the overall LNG imports in China are expected to cross 50 MMTPA by 2015. Besides, being developing economy China is importing huge amounts of crude oil and natural gas for domestic consumption and industrial usage which provides opportunity for BP.

There are 16 refineries either wholly or partially owned by BP(Richardson 2009 14). There are nearly 80,000 employees of BP.
