Career and Company Analysis

The career I want to pursue is Customer Care Professional. I like it for the reason that it requires us to have a logical temperament and its capacity to get directly in touch with the core workings of a company.

The company I would like to work at is UnitedHealth Group. I selected this due to its vast network related to human services. It offers health insurance and associated services to more than 79 million US citizens.

Needed Skills and Abilities

In order to become a Customer Care Professional at UnitedHealth Group, a candidate must have various abilities and skills. The following are prerequisites are essential to apply at UnitedHealth Group.

Qualifications

Masters degree in the relevant field

Minimum 1 year Customer Service experience

Healthcare experience preferred

Ability to modify attitude to meet all sorts of communication personalities and styles

Outstanding skills of conflict management

Key Skills

The role of the Customer Care Professional is to construct reliant associations with associates all across the lifecycle of health care. This is completed by helping in informing associates about management of their comfort and health, arranging enrollment and selection, assisting associates to make the most of individual health care dollars and health plan advantages and holding customer service queries through to declaration.

Gap Analysis

I am currently learning and do not have the required qualification for the post. I will need a masters degree to be hired by UnitedHealth Group. I would also need some experience in community service to show that I am a good person who will fit into their company well.

Develop an Action Plan

From my gap analysis I have learned that I still have a long way to go to reach my career aspiration. My action plan is get the needed degrees and certifications to be eligible for the job. Once I have finished my undergrad, I will start working on ways to differentiate myself. First of all, additional schooling is required to get a CPA. I will get a MBA which will help set me apart from many of the other applicants for accounting jobs. This will not only give me accounting experience, but show I have leadership and organizational capabilities. Once I am eligible to receive my CPA I will take the appropriate tests that are required to receive it.

Artifacts that will represent my portfolio of skills and abilities

I will submit a copy of my degrees and certificates. Also, I will submit a CV with my recent picture. I will write a proper cover letter that will explain of the community work I have gone through. I will also acquire my experience certificates from my previous employers.
