Emirates Telecommunications Corporation popularly known as Etisalat is a UAE based Telecommunication company. The company spreads across the globe and has operations in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The company has offices in 18 countries. In the world ranking, the company ranks 16th in the list of Mobile network. For the year 2011, the company reported a profit of US$2.078 billion and revenue of USD $8.4 billion. The major telecommunication network in the region is the contributed by the company. The company's roaming agreements cover more than 186 countries. These include the GPRS, Blackberry and 3G roaming facility. For the Point of Preference or PoP, the company is operative in Amsterdam, Paris, New York, Frankfurt, Singapore and London.

Etisalat provides many services to its valued clients. The core business of the company remains telephony, while the other services got separated so that each business unit can ne run with focus. All the services come under the umbrella of Etisalat group of companies. Each business unit is to generate its own finances and processes. The services include Etisalat Real State, Etisalat Academy, e-marine, Ebtikar Card Systems, Tamdeed Projects, Etisalat Information Services, Etisalat Facilities Management and Emirates Data Clearing House.

The company's mission is to extend the reach for people. Energy, openness, and enablement are three of the core values of the company that are embedded in the corporate culture. Etisalat has a forward looking approach, and it realizes that innovation is a key to survival in the industry in which the company operates. The physical formats of books, music and other services have phased out. The company wants to expand itself and diversify its portfolio keeping in view the changing trends in the industry. For instance, many doctors around the world have taken into telemedicine whereby the doctor gives advice to the patient over the internet. In the future, the plan is to make remote surgeries possible. The company is working along the lines of these technological advancements and creates various opportunities for its customers.
