Malcolm X, also known as El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, was born on 19th May 1925. He was an African-American Muslim minister and also worked as a human rights activist. He was one of the most influential black figures in American history (Kochiyama et al. 2004).\. He is honored to have raised the esteem of black Americans and made efforts to re-merge them with the African heritage. He further holds the responsibility of spreading Islam among the African Americans. Many of the African Americans believe that Malcolm X serve them in a better way to eradicate inequality between them and the Whites rather than the civil rights movement. This shows the praise that Malcolm X has among his supporters. The 37 years life of Malcolm X affected the lives of American whites and blacks in an immense form which cannot be assumed through a census chart or polling system.

Malcolm X may have works as a leader of the African Americans, but he has made prominent efforts for the elimination of racism. He made several attempts to unify the blacks and the whites in America. Due to his valuable contributions for civil rights, on 20th January, 1999, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) added an American postage stamp in the list of Black Heritage commemorative stamps for Malcolm X to pay salute to his valuable efforts (Rich, 2010). He comes 22nd on the list of Black Heritage stamp series.
