Few years back, Benjamin Franklin wrote a letter to his friend Joseph Priestly. This letter focused on two fundamental characteristics of cons: ambiguity and complexity, both internal and external (see for instance Bell Jr., Franklin, Labaree, 1956). While ambiguity addresses the difficulty of recognizing causality behind certain observable processes, complexity refers to the amount of information in the Franklin's environment and accounts for his available time frame and thinking ability to identify and process relevant type of algebraic quantities.
