Academic Review on Breaking Norovirus and cleaning work surfaces in clinical areas
Introduction
Clinical cleaning standards in hospitals and other healthcare settings have been widely discussed in academic literature with relation to causation of infection of several biological diseases. There are wide number of scholars, who have conducted different set of empirical studies around the world to put great emphasis on cleaning at healthcare settings. Various researchers have put great emphasis and hypothesized their empirical research with the question that cleaning is an important contributor in breaking and fighting against several infections usually referred to as healthcare associated infections (HAIs). They have also hypothesized that poor clinical cleaning pose several risks of those HAIs in several hospitals regardless of public and private hospitals and notwithstanding the other healthcare facilities provided by management. The empirical studies of various authors support that cleaning is found to be statistically significant and positively associated with breaking the cycle or limiting the influence of major infectious outbreaks. They also found that cleaning not only help to minimize those risks but also reduce overall consequences of those HAIs diseases associated with various healthcare settings. The researchers also found that hospitals must strive to maintain the right number of staff, lesser turnovers of nurses and cleaning staff and cleaning methods of reducing the impact of those diseases contribute to decreased infection rates of those hospitals associated infections. There are various researchers conducted to support that poor cleaning services can cause the development of biological viruses known as Norovirus.
Norovirus is one of the most widely discussed infectious viruses with relation to clinical clearing services in hospitals. It is found to be highly significant from empirical studies of various countries and especially more correlated with UK. Norovirus is found to be one of most contributing cause of infectious diarrhea and vomiting of patients in United Kingdom. In some academic literature, it is also referred as Norwalk virus or small round structured virus and also sometimes associated as winter vomiting diseases. However, it is also found to be highly significant with months other than winter, leading to great confusion to be actual cause of this virus. This has let the researchers to observe the clearing standards in hospitals because it is mostly related with hygiene related food and other objects that patients use in hospitals. Apart from hospitals, Norovirus is also found to spread around the globe in various schools, workplaces, hotels, ships and some other public places where cleaning standards are rather poor.
This infectious is causing great trouble for people in UK, where figures support that around 1 million people get affected form this virus every year. Various healthcare settings and social organizations are working towards promoting proper hand washing and usage of sanitizers to prevent this virus. Also many commercial ads of soaps and hand washes are focusing nowadays on promoting proper hand wash especially in children and people to remain clean and ...
