Life as the House is the 2001 American drama film produced and directed by Irwin Winkler. Mark Andrus's script focuses on the man who is anxious to repair his relationship with his ex-wife and her teenage son after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

George Monroe, the manufacturer of architectural models, is fired from job he has held for twenty years, when he refuses to fall in line with their colleagues and use of information technology at your disposal. Thus, he tries too hard for effort too far and tries to bring too many items, decreasing strength of basic story. George (Kevin Kline, Orange County, and Anniversary Party) discovers he has the short period of time to live. He wants to reconcile with his wife divorced, meets his rebellious teenage son, and rebuild house he and his wife used to live, he wants to set his life straight before he died.
