Lesson plan is an important tool for providing detailed guides for teachers in presenting the curriculum. These help teachers to develop the teaching material required for teaching students. The material required is differentiated according to levels. They are various methods for teaching students. They are considered as the road map for teachers and a certain direction and understanding the direction the teacher can take. This planning also helps in the absence of teacher in understanding the lesson to be taught to the students. The substitute can determine the material which can be covered that day. This saves time for students and students can also continue their studies. The students we are observing here is a nine year old boy in the third grade during 1-16- 12 has a disability as he is emotionally disturbed, does not sit still, fight, but at times can be sweet and kind to others.
Purpose of a Special Education Lesson Plan
Teachers who work with special education students they should also develop lesson plans. The lesson plan for special education students should include strategies to reach the benchmark set for individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Preparing special education lesson plan helps the teachers to focus on the mandate formed by the state and the necessary requirements of the students met by teachers. It provides sufficient results in leaning and practicing (O'Bannon, 2008).

The lesson plan should include the objective, which will be, achieved and the teachers think the students can benefit from it. Before forming the objective, the teacher should also keep in mind the prerequisite of the lesson which the students must have in order to understand the objective. In special education programs, these objectives vary from students depending on their abilities the benchmarks are set according to the IEP. The material used for the lesson plan should have a general purpose. It should be used by the students and teachers. Special education teachers must understand the individual capabilities of the students (Biggs, 2009).
