On 10 May 2010, Les Schwab had requested us for some recommendations for improving productivity at their company. This report will discuss some strategies that the management of Les Schwab can implement in their organization to improve their productivity. In this report, we have discussed two main strategies for Les Schwab that they can implement in their business, i.e. motivating the employees and improving the work environment. I have a strong believe that this report would play a good part in improving the productivity of Les Schwab.
This report will also analyze the impact of impact of motivating the employees on the productivity of Les Schwab.
The data was collected through secondary research. For the secondary research, I consulted a number of journals, research papers, and different peer reviewed articles. That research had enabled me to make a plan for improving the productivity of Les Schwab.

The productivity of a company is dependent upon the productivity of the employees. Enhancing the productivity of the employees is very important for a business in today's competitive environment. Maximizing the output from the employees, controlling the different expenses, constantly enhancing the quality of product(s), and minimizing employee absenteeism can have a huge impact on the productivity of business, especially a small firm. Keeping your employees motivated is the key for improving the employee productivity.
Motivating your employees does not have a big cost for the company; however, it can have very fruitful results for the company.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics has made estimation that “during the 2004-2014 period, as a result of the gradual decrease in the labor force participation rate, the growth rate of the labor force will slow to 1.0%, the same as the growth rate of the population.” Based on these projections, organizations need to be proactive in acknowledging these changes in demographics and preferences and modify their existing programs to account for such changes.
