Leroy Merlin is one of Europe's largest DIY companies. It operates in 9 countries with 6 different brands. Leroy Merlin practices the “magic” of home variation. The company operates through more than 330 home-improvement retailers worldwide under the following brand names; Leroy Merlin, Aki, Bricocenter, and Weldom. The DIY hypermarkets are present in Brazil, China, France, Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Russia, and Spain which are designed to meet the different home-improvement needs of each country. Besides the common DIY products, Leroy Merlin's stores offers building materials, sanitary equipment, and decorative items.

The topic to be investigated in this report Leroy Merlin's leading change and motivating staffs. Based on the primary data from the interview, the store manager revealed that their staffs are happy to work for Leroy Merlin however the company's top management left to their competitors; it is interesting and worth to investigate. It is the key factor why this company lost their first place. Management left due to competition, salary, marketing and careers. Company won't ask for a diploma or qualification for the appropriate job and employees get promoted in couple of years easily in the stores. Management system is still based on a philosophy of family and their main competitor Kingfisher who got all old Leroy Merlin's management are more innovative than Leroy.

The main intend of this research was to come across with management problems within Leroy Merlin. The researching relevant and needed data is playing important role in preparation of a report. The reason of the research is to gain new knowledge about the topic. A research can have different kinds; it can be investigative research that builds new problems; can be beneficial research that matures solutions to problems or can be experiential research that tests the capability of the solutions. There are many research methods or sequences available from different researchers for different purposes and areas.
